It used to before Thonny flashed the wrong firmware. If you need to communicate between the cores, rather than using FIFO, use queues, there is a PR in the examples repo that does just this (multicore_runner_queue). Re: Pico with Sensors of 5V. You can take 5V to your sensor from VBUS (pin 40) which is the nominal '5V' you are providing the Pico from USB, or from VSYS (pin 39) which is the same except after a schottky diode drop. You will however need to ensure that no 5V from the sensor, neither for sensor input nor output pins, reaches the Pico pins.

If something isn't substantially quicker it's a"nice, but nothing to write home about". From your Fibonacci results it seems the Pico 2 ARM is about 25% faster than Pico which is good to hear, RISC-V about 30% faster. I'm sure an ARM versus RISC-V comparison is going to be win some, lose some.
